Working closely with the six Community Safety Partnerships and Youth Offending Teams I agreed grant funding to support local delivery of my Police and Crime Plan in the six local authority areas in Northumbria. To ensure that the funding was used to reduce crime and disorder in Northumbria and provide value for money I assessed the proposed expenditure against the five objectives in my Police and Crime Plan. Each of the partnerships and youth offending teams have identified the impact that their funding will have and provided a schedule detailing the outcomes that the funding will support achievement of.
Monitoring includes the provision of regular financial returns and information about the progress in achieving the outcomes together with quarterly monitoring visits. There are also terms and conditions attached to these grants to which both the Community Safety Partnerships and the Youth Offending Teams have agreed.
I have asked partners to work with me to ensure that future funding is used in the most efficient and effective way. This will include looking at future ways to share best practice and learning across the six local authority areas and considering how we can work better cross our geographical borders to deal with cross cutting crime and disorder issues.
Information about the use of the grant allocation and how it will deliver value for money and support delivery of the police and crime plan can be found here:
The funding for the Youth Offending Teams is allocated to support delivery of services that contribute to the Police and Crime Commissioners objectives of cutting crime, crime prevention, reducing re-offending and community safety. Information about the use of the grant and how it will deliver value for money and support delivery of the police and crime plan can be found here:
I have made funding available for local charity, voluntary, social enterprises and community groups in Northumberland and Tyne and Wear to support me in delivering my Police and Crime Plan and reducing crime and disorder. Groups were able to apply for funding up to £2,000 for projects supporting delivery of my Police and Crime Plan objectives. Details of the grant terms and conditions, projects and amounts are given below.
To deliver the Police and Crime Plan i also make grants to different organisations to deliver specific bespoke project work in a way which i consider to be value for money.
